well, look who’s back. (boal pt 1)

25 02 2007

Wow, sorry for practically falling off the face of the earth for a while. I was really busy and stressed out lately, since I’ve had to deal with financial aid forms and adjusting to a new semester. Writing papers about Hawthorne is…not that fun, to say the least. 😛
I really really want to start this blog up again, and I have several things I want to talk about, including Augusto Boal and his “Invisible Theatre”, and his politics. This is something I learned about recently in my improv class, and I’ve very interested in the idea of using theater as political protest. Also, there’s an interesting aspect to theater that reminds me of power structures that we are engaged with every day, and this makes me want to attempt to read some Focault. Are there any starter texts or summaries of some of his ideas that won’t make my brain hurt?

Anyway, I plan on posting about Boal in the next few days, so I can get this blog up and running all over again.
